THE DECORATING TEAM FOR THE 2017 JUNIOR LEAGUE OF BOSTON DECORATOR SHOW HOUSE AT THE BELMONT WOMAN’S CLUB. I PITCHED THE “LADIES BATH” AND WAS THRILLED TO PARTICIPATE.
BEFORE: BEAUTIFULLY DETAILED MOROCCAN & DELFT TILES THAT INSPIRED THE “RHAPSODY IN BLUES” THEME. THE OLD BATH TUB WAS FOUND TO BE MADE OF GLEAMING COPPER, WHICH WE RECOVERED.
proposal
I found the rich hues of the imported tile from the Netherlands to offer a beautiful palette from which to begin. With that in mind, I decided the walls should be of a
rich blue paper, (Phillips Jefferies Lacquered Raffia in Cobalt or “Indigo” Grasscloth by Ralph Lauren* ) in order for the tile to play the staring role in this delightful “Ladies Bath.” The single window with the stained glass is gracefully accented with a soft, flowing Cobalt Blue swag which creates drama without interference or competition. On the floor, a delightful contemporary rug of cut circles in many shades of blue connect the walls and window treatments. Additionally, a plush, furry seat cover of a Cobalt Leopard print adds a cushy and welcoming spot in the corner, warming the flat toilet seat. Silver is the special accent in this space, found in the three sets of vanity wall scones and contemporary chandelier.
